Ryan Newman has signed a one year extension with Stewart Haas Racing to drive the No. 39. This is after joining the company three seasons ago. U.S. Army backed out of sponsorship for 2013 but Quicken Loans, Wix and Tornados also sponsor the No. 39. Newman has one win this season at Martinsville and must win this weekend in Richmond to make the Chase.

Matt Kenseth, who currently drives the No. 17 for Roush Fenway Racing, officially announced that he will drive for Joe Gibbs Racing in the No. 20 car starting next season. This announcement comes after driving for Roush Fenway Racing for 15 years. He will be sponsored by Home Depot and Dollar General. The crew chief for Kenseth will be Jason Ratcliff. There is no word on exactly how many years the new deal involves other than it is a multi-year deal.

Joey Logano has driven the No. 20 the past three years at Joe Gibbs Racing after replacing Tony Stewart. Since Kenseth is signed  to drive the No. 20 next season Logano is headed to Penske Racing to drive the No. 22. The opportunity became available after A.J. Allmendinger failed a random drug test over the Summer. Sam Hornish Jr. has been filling in and will drive the No. 22 the remainder of the season. Logano has signed a multi-year deal with Penkse Racing and will take over the No. 22 in 2013.
