Butch, David and Todd to Compete in July 19 Super Late Model Race at Irwindale Event Center

Former NASCAR K&N West Series champion Butch Gilliland will dust off his old racing uniform to take on his son and grandson — current NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver David Gilliland and up-and-coming late-model driver Todd Gilliland — in a Super Late Model Series race at Irwindale (Calif.) Speedway on July 19.  The 75-lap feature event will be the first time the three generations of Gillilands will compete against each other on track. Continue reading

The history of the Irwindale Event Center has seen both good and bad times and after closing in 2012, the good times are once again upon this famed racing venue in the San Gabriel Valley in Southern California. In late 2012, Jim Cohan, who ran the LA Driving Experience at the track was able to secure funding to re-open the speedway under his management. The track is back on the NASCAR Home Tracks schedule running a bi-weekly schedule for 2013. Jim Cohan, is now President/CEO, Irwindale Event Center bringing his experience to give the track it’s best chance at sustained success.  Continue reading

In Dominating Fashion, Keselowski Picks Up New Hampshire Weekend Sweep

It seemed as there were no other drivers on the track Sunday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Brad Keselowski absolutely stole the show as he held control for most of the afternoon. The win was his second in two days at “The Magic Mile” as he won the NASCAR Nationwide Series event in similar fashion on Saturday. Continue reading

James Bickford Picks Up First K&N West Win in Idaho

Rookie James Bickford made a late-race pass on Greg Pursley to win his first career K&N West race in Idaho.

For the longest time, it appeared David Mayhew was the driver to beat by leading the first 97 laps of the race. Continue reading
