Mason Mitchell is our next guest on Fan4Racing Fan2Fan NASCAR & Race Talk on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 9 pm ET.  Call 347-996-5176 during the LIVE broadcast with any questions or comments.

ARCA Racing Series driver Mason Mitchell is leading the point standings for the sixth consecutive week in a row heading into Salem this weekend. He now leads by 20 points over Grant Enfinger with three races left to run for the season.

Mitchell finished seventh at Salem Speedway in the Spring race and fifth last Fall.  He also tested there last Monday. The track is an old surface with a repave only in turns three and four. This weekend, Mitchell plans to race the same car that he finished second at Winchester. Winchester and Salem are in essence sister tracks.

For the season, Mitchell has some impressive stats with an average starting position of 3.9 and five pole awards. He’s earned 45 more bonus points than his closest competitor, Grant Enfinger. He has 15 points for his pole awards, 10 for second and 5 for third.

Despite having only one win, Mitchell has been a model of consistency with only two finishes outside the top-ten. Both were mechanical issues at Lucas Oil Raceway and Madison (WI).

Mitchell chose the No. 98 for his team at the beginning of the year because Benny Parsons won two ARCA championships driving the No. 98.

In 2014, at 20 years of age, Mitchell took on a new role as owner of Mason Mitchell Motorsports addition to driving the No. 98. The team came together rather quickly in November 2013.  His organization built new cars for the 2014 season and they have worked well throughout the season. The dual role for Mitchell has him living in his race shop in Mooresville, NC.

With just three races remaining in the ARCA Racing Series season, Mitchell has already had a banner year, but looks forward to contending for his first championship.
