Bill McAnally Racing Driver Scores Top-Five Finishes In Both K&N West Road Races For 2014

Brandon McReynolds finished fifth in the EnergySolutions Utah Grand Prix at Miller Motorsports Park on September 13th, giving him top-five finishes in both NASCAR K&N Pro Series West road course events for 2014.

Making his first visit to the winding 2.2-mile Utah track, McReynolds matched the fifth-place finish he had in his Bill McAnally Racing No. 16 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota earlier in the season at Sonoma (Calif.) Raceway.

The 23-year-old driver from Mooresville, North Carolina also extended his streak of consecutive top-five finishes to eight. Continue reading

Although more women are racing, there are still fewer women than men in the sport today.  Toni McCray is one of the few making her mark among the men in the Lucas Oil Late Model series. Michael Lira, the seventeen-year-old race car driver and high school student from Port Orange, Florida, was given a spot in NASCAR through the NASCAR Drive for Diversity (D4D) program. In recent years, the NASCAR Drive for Diversity program has been a hotbed for some of the most promising young talent in the sport. Drivers like NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Sunoco Rookie of the Year candidate Kyle Larson and three-time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race winner Darrell Wallace Jr. are both products of the NASCAR Drive for Diversity program, and Lira hopes to follow in their footsteps. Logano Advances with Kansas Win, as Several Chase Favorites Falter

In a race that saw Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup favorites Jimmie Johnson, Brad Keselowski and Dale Earnhardt Jr. fall by the wayside, Joey Logano earned a ticket to the Eliminator Round of the Chase with a hard-fought victory in Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway.

Logano beat rookie Kyle Larson to the finish line by .480 seconds to notch his fifth victory of the season, tied with Team Penske teammate Brad Keselowski for most in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series this year. The win was Logano’s first at Kansas and the eighth of his career. Continue reading
