AUTO CLUB SPEEDWAY ANNOUNCES 2nd STRAIGHT SELLOUT FOR AUTO CLUB 400 

For the second straight year, Auto Club Speedway President Dave Allen announced that grandstand tickets for Sunday’s Auto Club 400 have been sold out.

Those wishing to purchase standing room only tickets can still join the Auto Club 400 festivities by calling 1-800-944-RACE (7223).

“All I can say to our great fans is Thank You,” said Speedway President Dave Allen.  “Our fans have once again shown their passion for Auto Club Speedway and NASCAR.  I’m sure the Auto Club 400 will once again be a great race.”

Kyle Busch (No. 18 Interstate Batteries Toyota) took last year’s Auto Club 400 checkered flag, while Kyle Larson (No. 42 Target Chevrolet), who was named the 2014 Rookie of the Year, won the TreatMyClot.com 300 NASCAR Xfinity race.

Sunday’s Auto Club 400 is set to air on FOX at Noon local time as well as your local MRN affiliate.

“AMERICAN IDOL XIV” TOP 11 TO SING NATIONAL ANTHEM AND GRAND MARSHALS FOR AUTO CLUB 400

The Top 11 finalists from AMERICAN IDOL XIV will sing the National Anthem and serve as Grand Marshals prior to the start of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Auto Club 400 race at the Auto Club Speedway on Sunday, March 22. The race will be broadcast at Noon (PT) on FOX

The Top 11 Finalists include: Quentin Alexander, Clark Beckham, Joey Cook, Adanna Duru, Nick Fradiani, Jax, Tyanna Jones, Qaasim Middleton, Rayvon Owen, Daniel Seavey and Maddie Walker. 

Nashville’s music powerhouse and IDOL’s in-house mentor Scott Borchetta will join the Top 11 contestants to call the command as Grand Marshals. Borchetta is President and CEO of the Big Machine Label Group and one of the most successful forces in the music industry today.  The AMERICAN IDOL XIV winner will join Borchetta’s record label roster of superstar talent, including global pop star Taylor Swift, whom he discovered at the age of 14, as well as Tim McGraw, Reba, Rascal Flatts, Florida Georgia Line and The Band Perry.

Global country music legend and superstar of the screen, Dwight Yoakam, will serve as Honorary Starter for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series’ Auto Club 400 at Auto Club Speedway on Sunday, March 22. As Honorary Starter, Yoakam will wave the green flag to start the Auto Club 400, and watch the stock cars take their first lap on the circuit’s final stop on the West Coast Swing.

As an Honorary Race Official, Yoakam will be involved with pre-race ceremony activities including driver introductions and special NASCAR awards. He will be joined by Miss Sprint Cup, Eric Stonestreet from “Modern Family,” Latin GRAMMY-nominated musical artist, El Dasa, and other dignitaries.

BRIAN MCKNIGHT TO PERFORM NATIONAL ANTHEM AT NASCAR XFINITY DRIVE4CLOTS.COM 300 RACE

 Award-winning R&B artist, Brian McKnight, will sing the National Anthem prior to the start of the NASCAR Xfinity Drive4Clots.com 300race at Auto Club Speedway, on Saturday, March 21. The race is scheduled to be televised on Fox Sports 1 at 1 p.m. PT.

As an Honorary Race Official, McKnight will be on the main stage for pre-race ceremony activities including Xfinity driver introductions and special NASCAR awards.

McKnight has been honored with multiple awards including Billboard Songwriter of the Year, American Music Awards, Soul Train Awards, and 16 Grammy nominations.

To date, McKnight has released 15 albums and has sold over 20 million albums which include top hits “Back at One,” “Anytime,” and “Only One For Me.”

The male vocalist also plays nine instruments including piano, guitar, bass, drums, percussions, trombone, tuba, flugelhorn and trumpet.  He has collaborated with performers across every genre including: Quincy Jones, Justin Timberlake, Mariah Carey, Diddy, Christina Aguilera, Rascal Flatts, Nelly, Vanessa Williams, Willie Nelson and Kenny G.

Auto Club Speedway announced today that two-time Emmy Award winner Eric Stonestreet will be behind the wheel of the Official NASCAR 2014 Toyota Camry Pace Car as he leads the field of 43 stock cars before the start of the Auto Club 400 at Auto Club Speedway on Sunday, March 22.

As an Honorary Race Official, Stonestreet will be involved with pre-race ceremony activities including driver introductions and special NASCAR awards. He will be joined by Miss Sprint Cup, Latin Grammy nominated musical artist, El Dasa, and other dignitaries.

Stonestreet is no stranger in playing a lead role, and as the official pace car driver he will lead the top NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers to the green flag to kick off the Auto Club 400.

Stonestreet currently stars as Cameron Tucker on ABC’s comedy series, “Modern Family,” a role in which he earned two Emmy Awards in the “Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series” category.  Most recently, Stonestreet starred in the thriller “The Loft” which was released by Open Road on January 30, 2015.  Upcoming, Stonestreet will voice the character of ‘Duke’ in Illumination Entertainments’ “The Secret Lift of Pets” which is set to release in 2016.

UPDATE ON FACILITIES’ SAFER BARRIERS

Following a full track review with NASCAR and ISC, Auto Club Speedway will add additional safeguards to those already in place in advance of its Auto Club 400 Weekend March 20-22.  Auto Club Speedway will install tire pack barriers inside Turn 1 prior to the NASCAR XFINITY Series Drive4Clots 300.com and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Auto Club 400.

Following our upcoming race weekend, Auto Club Speedway will begin installation of SAFER barrier along the frontstretch and backstretch walls. Once completed, the entire frontstretch and backstretch will have SAFER barriers for 2016 events at Auto Club Speedway . In preparation for the 2016 racing season, we will continue to collaborate and evaluate additional safety enhancements .

“The safety of drivers, and our fans and staff is, and always has been, a top priority,” said Dave Allen, Auto Club Speedway President.  “As part of our continued commitment to safety, we will work hand-in-hand with NASCAR and all sanctioning bodies that race at our track to make improvements that will further enhance safety.”

 

WARRANT HEADLINES PRE-RACE CONCERT

 In the 1980s it was all about big hair and pop rock. Today, Auto Club Speedway celebrates the glam rock era withWarrant performing pop metal hits at this year’s pre-race concert on the O’Reilly Auto Parts Main Stage at 10:15 AM on Sunday, March 22, just before the Auto Club 400 gets under way.

Capitalizing on the glam rock that was a product of the 80s, Warrant signed with Columbia Records in 1988 and released their debut album Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Richjust one year later. With songs like “Down Boys,” “Sometimes She Cries,” and “Heaven,” the album climbed to the top ten in the charts. Following their debut album, Warrant released their second album, Cherry Pie, which made them Platinum selling artists.

In addition to Warrant rockin’ the main stage, race fans will enjoy a diverse line up of performances ranging from motocross daredevils to wrestling matches all weekend in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Fan Zone.

INFIELD GUESTS TO EXPERIENCE NEON NITE TOTALLY RAD THROWBACK EXPERIENCE

Dude, infield guests at this year’s Auto Club 400 should expect a rad throwback experience when the infield goes totally 80s for Neon Nite on Saturday, March 21.  We’re talkin’ neon spandex, shoulder pads, muscle tees, parachute pants, mullets, leg warmers and high hair.

Beginning at 7:15pm, and back by popular demand, hundreds of infield guests will decorate their bicycles with glow sticks and neon lights as part of the 2nd Annual Pedal Party presented by Bubba Burger and supporting sponsors Vons and Coca-Cola.

“Last year’s inaugural Pedal Party was a huge highlight of the weekend,” said Dave Allen, President of Auto Club Speedway. “Out here in California, we love our cruisers and anything with wheels, so why not make a 80s-themed night with concerts, special guests and some track time for our infield fans.”

To recognize the passion and tradition of fans shining up their cycles and getting them ready for the Bubba Burger Pedal Party, Coca-Cola will giveaway six bike cruisers  starting Thursday, March 19 thru Saturday, March 21. To enter, infield guests must tag their photos with #ACSNeonNite and @CocaCola at Facebook.com/Auto Club Speedway.

Don your spandex and get your hair high because when the pedaling stops, the jams start.  And by jams we mean TWO concert happenings.

Starting at 8 p.m, Mötley Inc. will perform top hits and then The Atomic Punks will take to the stage, performing Van Halen’s top hits of the David Lee Roth-era.

The Infield Entertainment stage is FREE to all infield guests and suite guests. Guests can enjoy Pink’s Hot Dogs and more at the Oasis during the concert.

AUTO CLUB SPEEDWAY CELEBRATES NASCAR’S RETURN WITH HAULER PARADE, HANGAR 24 PARTY IN FANZONE

The 2015 edition of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Hauler Parade, which kicks off Auto Club 400 Weekend festivities, is scheduled for Thursday, March 19, 2015. This year, there is a new starting location, new route and a new fan experience at Auto Club Speedway to end the evening.

Stretching nearly a mile from first hauler to last, Auto Club Speedway welcomes back NASCAR to Southern California with its annual Hauler Parade which starts at 6 p.m. More than 40 NASCAR haulers will be staged throughout the day at the new starting location: Quakes Stadium (LoanMart Field) located at 8408 Rochester Ave., Rancho Cucamonga.  Fans are encouraged to stop by, snap a “selfie” with their favorite drivers’ hauler, and watch the parade begin.

Along the route, Bass Pro Shops will be one of the prime viewing areas for fans to enjoy special vendors, driver and team merchandise haulers including Dale Jr., Tony Stewart, Kevin Harvick, Jeff Gordon and entertainment.

At the parade’s finish line, celebrate the haulers return with the Speedway’s Official Craft Brewer, Hangar 24, who will host a beer-tasting celebration in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Fan Zone. Stop by and check out their delicious, handcrafted beer.  You might even run into a driver or two.  The Hanger 24 party goes from 5-7 p.m. and is open to the public.

The convoy will travel along a six-mile route from Quakes Baseball Stadium (LoanMart Field).

EL DASA KICKS-OFF AUTO CLUB 400 WITH LIVE CONCERT

 Fans will be lining up early for front row spots to see Latin Grammy nominated musical artist, El Dasa, sing his Billboard chart-topping hits including “Mentirosa,” “Por Ser Bonita,” “Alegre y Enamorado,” “Mi Amiga, Mi Amante, Mi Amor” and “Casi Perfecto.” Performing on the O’Reilly Auto Parts Fan Zone Main Stage on Sunday, March 22, at 8:45 a.m., El Dasa will get the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Auto Club 400 race started off right!

“We’re excited about having El Dasa join us for the Auto Club 400,” said Auto Club Speedway President David Allen.  “The energy he brings to his shows is perfect for our big race day.  Our fans are going to enjoy an amazing concert.”

The 25-year old Regional Mexican singer got his start in Los Angeles after working as a driver for Mexican ranchera icon, Vicente Fernandez. On November 17, 2011, Fernandez invited El Dasa to perform on stage with him which catapulted El Dasa’s rise to fame.

“I am very excited to be participating in this huge NASCAR event,” said Dasa.  “I love the fact that Auto Club Speedway has a long history of offering Hispanic musical entertainment along with the rest of their great musical lineup.”

El Dasa is a Best New Artist winner of both a Premios Los Nuestro award as well as the BandaMax award.  His debut albumPa La Raza was nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2013 for Best Banda album, and his second album, Alegre y Enamoradohad five singles that reached the top of the Billboard charts.

El Dasa has performed with Paquita La Del Barrio, Marco Antonio Solis, and La Arrolladora Banda el Limon.  In addition to performing at the Latin Grammys, he has appeared in many popular Hispanic TV shows such as “Mira Quien Baila,” “Sabado Gigante,” “Despierta America,” “Premios Juventud,” and “Va Por Ti.”
