One year ago, Top Fuel rookie Richie Crampton was a crew member for Morgan Lucas Racing that thought he was living the dream when he was asked to fill in and test a dragster for MLR driver Brandon Berstein. Last Monday at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis, Crampton was crowned champion of the 60th annual US Nationals, making him the newest king of the drag racing world. Continue reading

Top Fuel newcomer Richie Crampton gave his Rookie of the Year bid a giant boost Sunday by winning the 45th annual Toyota NHRA Summernationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park. Crampton beat points leader Doug Kalitta in a thrilling last round, 3.819 to 3.848, becoming just the second Australian-born pro winner in NHRA history. Continue reading

GEICO/Lucas Oil Top Fuel dragster driver Richie Crampton experienced the highs and lows of NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing during the Circle K NHRA Winternationals in Pomona.

The rookie savored a first-round victory over Brittany Force that was his first professional win but then suffered a second-round defeat to No. 1 qualifier Doug Kalitta.

Still, Crampton knows it’s early in his rookie year and believes Pomona was a good start to his career. Continue reading
