Californian Becomes First D4D, NASCAR Next Grad To Win In Sport’s Premier Series

Kyle Larson won Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Michigan International Speedway to become the first graduate of the NASCAR Drive for Diversity and the NASCAR Next programs to win at the sanctioning body’s top level.

Larson, the 24-year-old Elk Grove, California, native of Japanese-American heritage, has already won in the NASCAR XFINITY Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. His first win came in 2013 at Rockingham Speedway in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. He has since won another NASCAR Camping World Truck race, as well as four NASCAR XFINITY Series races. Get ready fans, the Chase is about to go full force ahead at Chicagoland Speedway and the new guys are aligning themselves and their teams into position to compete against the bigger, more experienced teams with hopes of emerging as the underdogs and going for the NASCAR Sprint Cup title.

Overall this season, Richard Childress Racing teams have fared well, and now have two teams in this year’s Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. One of those teams is the No. 27 of Paul Menard, who is contending in the Chase for the first time.  Continue reading

NASCAR® fans, for the second consecutive year, can showcase their race prediction skills with The Chase Grid™ Battle Powered by Bing. Back for the second season, the game allows players to make Round-by-Round picks and compete for prizes throughout the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup™, which kicks-off September 20 at Chicagoland Speedway.

New in 2015, the race-by-race scoring format awards points after each race in the ten races of The Chase™ and for predicting the drivers who will advance through each round, through the championship at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 22.
