Jeff Gordon Offers Fans a Behind-The-Scenes Day With Him At The AAA Texas 500
The NASCAR Champion Will Fly the Prizeo Winner Out to Texas for a Racing Weekend
Los Angeles, CA (August 18, 2014). NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon has announced via exclusive video, alongside top Formula One drivers Esteban Gutiérrez and Adrian Sutil, the launch of a campaign on the celebrity charity-fundraising digital platform Prizeo.com to raise awareness and funds for Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research and the Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation.
Fans can participate by going to Prizeo.com/Race2Texas. Those who contribute to this campaign will be entered into a drawing to win the ultimate racing fan experience: one grand prize winner and a guest will be flown from wherever they are in the world to Texas to experience both Formula One and NASCAR racing, and meet all 3 drivers.
The weekend will start at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, where the winner and guest will get a rare behind-the-scenes look at the Sauber Formula One team, meet the drivers and watch the practice and qualifying rounds. They will then be transported to Dallas/Fort Worth to join Jeff Gordon at the Texas Motor Speedway for his parade lap before the AAA Texas 500. They will receive a tour of the pits and garage, and watch the race from a VIP suite.
“I feel very fortunate to be able to participate in such an innovative charity fundraiser,” says Gordon. “To be able to work alongside racing fans in support of cancer research, and give them a chance to win an ultimate racing weekend too, is a special opportunity that I had to be part of.”
Those who donate at specific price points are also eligible for exclusive rewards, including an exclusive campaign t-shirt, autographed #24 Jeff Gordon race jackets and worn racing gloves, and even autographed Sauber F1 team overalls. The minimum donation is $5 per entry. A full list of campaign rewards is available.
The grand-prize winner will be chosen at random and notified shortly via e-mail after the campaign closes on September 15th, 2014. For full contest rules, see http://www.prizeo.com/terms-and-conditions.
Prizeo enables stars to maximize the benefits of their social-media platforms on behalf of charities. Recent Prizeo campaigns featuring celebrities like Muhammad Ali, Mark Ruffalo, Will Ferrell, Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney, Valentino Rossi, Samuel L. Jackson, George R.R. Martin, Ed Sheeran, Mariah Carey, and Kobe Bryant have shown the immense power of social media to raise funds and awareness for charitable causes. A 2013 campaign featuring One Direction’s Harry Styles and Liam Payne raised nearly $800,000 for cancer research and prevention programs. Prizeo’s micro-donation model allows fans to donate for chances to win once-in-a-lifetime experiences with their favorite celebrities whose charities benefit from the online campaigns that run live on the site.
Celebrity digital fundraising platform Prizeo was founded in early 2012 by Bryan Baum, Leo Seigal and Andrej Pancik. The friends met at Oxford University and developed the site with key investors Edgar Bronfman Jr., former CEO of Warner Music Group; Ajaz Ahmed, founder and chairman AKQA; and Michael Lynch, former Head of Global Sponsorship at Visa. Late in 2012, Prizeo was accepted into Y-Combinator, the prestigious Silicon Valley seed-stage incubator program for the most promising startups. They are dedicated to building the Prizeo community on the principle that celebrities can maximize both the funds and awareness they raise for charity on an inclusive platform that gives all their fans the chance to contribute to win a once-in-a- lifetime experiences while contributing to society in a meaningful way.
About GABRIELLE’S ANGEL FOUNDATION FOR CANCER RESEARCH
Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research was created in 1996, when Grammy-nominated songwriter and philanthropist, Denise Rich lost her daughter Gabrielle, a vibrant 27-year-old actress and Hodgkin’s lymphoma survivor to acute myelogenous leukemia. Gabrielle’s mother and sisters, Daniella Rich Kilstock and Ilona Rich Schachter, believed the best way to honor Gabrielle’s memory was to create a Foundation that would fund the best and brightest scientific investigators with the hope that less toxic treatments, and ultimately a cure, might be discovered.
Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation funds junior scientific investigators conducting research in the fields of leukemia, lymphoma, and related cancers. Since its inception, Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation has awarded grants totaling $25 million to the top physician-scientists in America. Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation maintains its status as one of the largest non-governmental sources of grant support for blood cancer research in the United States. In 2012, the Foundation announced the creation of its sister chapter, Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation UK, which expands its mission to fund similar research in the United Kingdom.
