The management team of the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series proudly presents the “Winter Showdown 250” for Tour Cars and Super Late Models at Kern County Raceway Park in Bakersfield, California, February 27 and 28. The race also features a 75-lap event for the Lucas Oil Modifieds on Saturday.

The nationally televised on MAVTV, “Winter Showdown” will be one of the richest asphalt short track events in the nation, with over $150,000.00 in prize money, and a record $25,000.00 payday to the winner of the Winter Showdown 250.

Single car qualifying for the Tour Cars and Super Late Models starts at 5:30pm, the 2014 Champions Invitational Dash for the Lucas Oil Modified Series at 7pm, followed by what is the most exciting racing action of the weekend, the 51 FIFTY Energy Drink Qualifying Races” to set the line up for the Winter Showdown 250 on February 28th.

More than 60 drivers will be split into three qualifying races, fighting for top finishing positions to secure their spot in the $150,000 Winter Showdown 250. The winner’s of the three qualifying races are awarded with a commemorative Rockwell watch.

Drivers who do not transfer from their qualifying race will have a last shot at a Winter Showdown starting position by racing in Saturday’s Last Chance Race at 3pm. The top four finishers will round out the 36 car-starting field for the 250 lap feature.

Friday, February 27, it’s the 51 FIFTY Energy Drink Opening Night. Bring in an empty can of 51 FIFTY Energy Drink and save $5 at the front gate for opening night admission.

Saturday, February 28, it’s the Winter Showdown 250, the Lucas Oil Modifieds 75 and the Last Chance Qualifier. Opening ceremonies at 5pm for one of the biggest and richest stock car races of the year. Tickets available now at www.KernRaceway.com.
