William Byron is our guest on Fan4Racing Fan2Fan NASCAR & Race Talk on Monday, June 29, 2015 at 8:40 pm ET. Call 714-202-9918 or tweet @Fan4RacingSite @Sal_Sigala or @ZRoethlisberger with any questions or comments during the LIVE broadcast.

With three K&N East victories so far this season and leading the series’ point standings, HScott Motorsports with Justin Marks driver, William Byron traveled to Sonoma Raceway for the K&N West Carneros 200 seeking road course racing experience, along with his teammates, Dalton Sargeant and JJ Haley.

Looking to capitalize on the speed he’d shown throughout the weekend Byron kept his momentum in the No. 91 Liberty University Chevrolet. The 17-year-old started the day in the right way, qualifying second for the event. As the race began, Byron held tough in the second position looking to conserve his equipment as the race continued. The NASCAR Next driver ran inside the top-five for nearly all the event, only slipping to sixth for a few circuits around Sonoma Raceway. Byron was able to use late-race restarts to his advantage and ultimately bring home a fifth-place finish in his first-career road course start.

“It feels really good to bring home a solid top-five finish. Our goal heading into today was to run all of the laps and bring the Liberty University Chevrolet home in the top-ten, so to bring home a top-five was even better. We will learn from this and move on to VIR for the road course stuff and try to get better for an opportunity to win.”

Look for the HScott Motorsports with Justin Marks teams to run well at their road course races in August as they closed out the day with all inside the top-five at Sonoma. Dalton Sargeant put forth a strong showing, leading 62 of 65 laps and bringing home a second-place finish. JJ Haley finished a strong third-place in his 2015 K&N West début, while William Byron also captured a top-five finish in his first career road-course and first K&N West start.

The NASCAR K&N West race from Sonoma Raceway will air on NBCSN on July 1 at 6:00 p.m. EDT. The next event for HScott Motorsports with Justin Marks will be Saturday, July 4 at Columbus (Ohio) Motor Speedway in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East.
