Cole Powell Eager for Third Start at Daytona in Lucas Oil 200

Cole Powell is no stranger to racing at the Daytona International Speedway (DIS) with the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, however, this weekend in the Lucas Oil 200 presented by General Tire will be the Canadian racers debut with Mason Mitchell Motorsports (MMM).

“A win at Daytona would honestly be the best thing that could happen to me,” Powell stated. I only have signed for one race as of now.”

“A victory at Daytona might open more doors for myself to complete in more ARCA races and maybe even land a full time ride which would be a dream come true. I have amazing equipment and team in MMM this year. We have everything we need to be successful at Daytona this weekend.”

Powell has two prior starts at the “World Center of Racing” with a best finish of 20th. Last season he earned his best career finish of third at the Talladega Superspeedway.

Powell will pilot Chassis 100 out of the MMM stable. The chassis is an old HScott Motorsports car and sat on the pole at Daytona in 2014 season opener with Dylan Kwasniewski.

Autographs Anyone? Fans will have the opportunity to meet Powell and teammate Gus Dean during the ARCA open garage at Daytona Saturday from 12:30-2:00 pm ET.

MMM has five starts at restrictor plate tracks in the ARCA Racing Series. The team’s earned one top-five and three top-ten finishes with a best finish of third at Talladega in 2014.

In two years in the Series MMM’s earned four wins, 22 top-five finishes, 35 top-ten’s, five Menards pole awards along with capturing the 2014 ARCA championship.

The 53 annual Lucas Oil 200 at the Daytona International Speedway is set for Saturday February 13th. The race will be live on Fox Sports 1 beginning at 4:00 pm ET. ARCAracing.com will also provide live timing and scoring for all on-track sessions throughout the week.
