When the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West door closed at the end of the 2015 season for Hannah Newhouse, she then opened three other doors with three series titles on her mind. After insurmountable challenges in finding the funding needed to race a second season in the K&N West, 19-year-old Newhouse, a native of Twin Falls, Idaho, never missed a beat in setting up her 2016 schedule.
Making a return to the Pro Truck Series with races at regional tracks such as, Rocky Mountain Raceway, Meridian Speedway, and Magic Valley Speedway, Newhouse plans to race ten events including two, two-day shows. Newhouse competed full-time in the series in 2013 with Thompson Motorsports, finishing second in the championship standings.
The Pro Truck Series schedule includes a special chance for Newhouse to race with her brother Mason Newhouse and her father, John Newhouse, with both running the full-time schedule as well.
Also planning to take on two separate local late-model divisions, Newhouse and her team will run the Meridian Big 5 Series and the Rocky Mountain Raceways Late Model Series. The Meridian Big 5 Series will host five late-model races at Meridian Speedway while Rocky Mountain Raceway will hold six events. Last year Hannah competed in four of the five late-model events at Meridian Speedway earning two top-five finishes.
Between the three combined series, a total of 21 races are on the schedule and amazingly there are only two conflicting dates that will force Newhouse to decide which event she’ll race. Luckily she has the Pro Truck rule book on her side as the series allows a substitute for one race and she can drop a race as well.
“I am really excited about this season and making my return to the Pro Truck series as well as getting lots of seat time in my late-model,: says Newhouse. “We have had success at many of the tracks and in the truck series. Ultimately we are in search of championships this year.”
Outside of the other series, Newhouse has select super late-model races on her schedule with the Montana 200, the Fall Classic at the Las Vegas Bullring, and the K&N West race at Meridian Speedway – in hopes of funding support. One long-time sponsor for Newhouse is Boise State University.
“We are really excited to have Boise State University on with us for the 2016 season as well,” says Newhouse. We have formed a really unique relationship with them and it has created an opportunity to pursue my racing and my education as well. As many know, racing is an expensive sport to be in and we are always looking to expand our program through sponsorship opportunities” said Newhouse on her partnership with Boise State University
With three championship titles on her mind and racing in her family bloodline, Hannah Newhouse is a dedicated driver on a mission this 2016 season.
