As fans continue their countdown to the start of the 2018 NASCAR Racing season, there’s plenty of news around driver changes throughout several teams. One to watch this season – and one we’ve watched throughout his career – is Dalton Sargeant.

Finding success in any series in which he competes, Sargeant has a full-time seat in the No. 25 for GMS Racing in the Camping World Truck Series this season and fans can expect to see him as a contender for Rookie of the Year honors. Last season, Sargeant finished second in the ARCA Racing Series and was their Rookie of the Year.

“I’m really excited to be joining a championship-caliber team in GMS Racing for the 2018 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season,” said Sargeant. “Mike Beam and everyone at GMS Racing has put so much effort into this No. 25 team during the off-season and I can’t thank them enough for this opportunity.  GMS Racing has put together an all-star team of people and equipment, plus had faith in me to drive and compete for wins. I’m looking forward to what we can accomplish in 2018. It’s always been a dream and a goal to compete at this level in NASCAR. I left a career and a life in Europe to compete against the best in NASCAR and today is that day. We have a full slate of things coming up as a team and I know we’re all really looking forward to getting on the track and beginning the season.”

Sargeant also has 18 K&N Pro Series starts across both the West and East Series with one win, two pole awards, ten top-five finishes and is a member of the 2015 NASCAR Next Class. Heading into the 2018 season, Sargeant has six previous Truck Series starts under his belt with two top-ten finishes, including a tenth-place finish in his debut at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Add to Sargeant’s resume races in the Winter Showdown at Kern County Raceway and the Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway along with several Southwest SRL Touring events. What some may not know about this NASCAR Next driver is that in 2012 at the age of 13, Sargeant and his brother moved to Switzerland to compete in the European open-wheel series. He scored wins in the WSK Euro Series and the CIK-FIA European KF3 Championship and tested a Formula Renault car.

Supporting the 19-year-old native of Boca Raton, FL is veteran crew chief Doug Randolph who joined GMS Racing in the off-season and brings 17 years of experience as a crew chief across all three of NASCAR’s top three series.  Randolph has worked with both Dave and Ryan Blaney, Sterling Marlin, Bobby Labonte, Brad Keselowski, Clint Bowyer, Scott Riggs and Jimmy Spencer. Randolph has 11 wins, 75 top-five and 149 top-ten finishes, including eleven pole awards as a crew chief in NASCAR competition.

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season begins at Daytona International Speedway on Friday, February 16th with coverage on FOX Sports 1 at 7:30 pm ET.
