Call it déjà vu for Grant Enfinger as he starts his 2015 ARCA Racing Series season back in victory lane becoming a back-to back winner at the World Center of Racing – Daytona International Speedway. Enfinger won the same race a year ago and ended the 2014 season, second in the point standings.
Piloting the No. 23 Enfinger took his team to victory lane Saturday, in the season-opener at Daytona. Enfinger started in the 13th position for the Lucas Oil 200 and found speed in the early stages of the event. GMS Racing crew chief, Jeff Stankiewicz, called the 30-year-old driver to pit road under caution on lap 34 for a fuel-only stop. Pit strategy earned Enfinger the fourth spot for the ensuing restart. Enfinger gained the lead on lap-53 and never looked back. He led the field to the checkered flag collecting his second consecutive victory at Daytona in the ARCA Racing Series.
“It’s an incredible feeling to be standing in victory lane right now. A few weeks ago, there was a lot of uncertainty. I didn’t know when I was going to get back in a race car. I can’t say enough about GMS Racing, Alamo Rent-A-Car and Allegiant Travel for this amazing opportunity. I’m so proud of all the hard work this team put in over the off season. It all pays off tonight. We’re going to savor this one for a while.”
