Sixteen-Time Grammy Award Winner to Perform at Annual Event Honoring the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion

Grammy Award-winning artist Sting will perform at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards on Friday, Dec. 2, at Wynn Las Vegas. The finale of NASCAR Champion’s Week festivities, the annual awards show brings together some of the greatest names in sports and entertainment to celebrate the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion, team owner and 16 Chase drivers.

Sting will headline the event, performing both a classic hit and a selection from his new album, 57th & 9th, released November 11 on A&M/Interscope Records. His twelfth studio album and first rock/pop project in more than a decade, the ten-song collection represents a wide range of Sting’s musical and songwriting styles, including the raucous first single “I Can’t Stop Thinking About You,” the anthemic, “50,000” and the ferocious, Road Warrior-style imagery of, “Petrol Head.” The latter is also the aptly named anthem of NASCAR’s upcoming social video release designed to build anticipation for the final two races of the season and ultimately the crowning of a new champion.  Continue reading →

ARCA Racing Series Releases 2017 Schedule

The 65th consecutive season for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards is set in stone, as Series officials released the 2017 schedule Thursday to include 20 race-dates across 13 states.

Another healthy mix of superspeedways, paved short tracks, dirt tracks and a road course will highlight the 2017 tour, including returns trips to Elko Speedway in Minnesota and Road America in Wisconsin. Drivers Announced for Obaika Racing In NASCAR XFINITY Series Race at Phoenix

Drivers Josh Bilicki and Ryan Ellis will take the wheel of the No. 97 and No. 77 Vroom Brands Chevrolets in the NASCAR XFINITY Series Ticket Galaxy 200 this Saturday, Nov. 12, at Phoenix International Raceway at 7:30 pm ET.

Saturday’s race will be Bilicki’s second time driving for the Obaika Racing team. He debuted in the NASCAR XFINITY Series in the No. 77 Vroom Brands Chevrolet at Road America, giving Obaika Racing its best qualifying result. The race this weekend will mark Bilicki’s rookie appearance at Phoenix International Speedway. Continue reading →

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship 4 Clinch Scenarios for Phoenix

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers Jimmie Johnson and Carl Edwards are clinched in the Championship 4 for Homestead Miami Speedway next weekend. The next two drivers to secure their chance at racing for the Sprint Cup title is decided this weekend in the Can Am 500 at Phoenix International Raceway and the six drivers and their clinch scenarios are listed below. 

Joey Logano (0 Wins, 4074 Points) – Would clinch on points with a second-place finish and at least one lap led.  With a win, would clinch a next round spot on wins.

Kyle Busch (0 Wins, 4074 Points) – Would clinch on points with a second-place finish and the most laps led.  With a win, would clinch a next round spot on wins.

The following drivers can only guarantee a clinch with a win. The could also clinch on points with help:

Matt Kenseth (0 Wins, 4073 Points)

Denny Hamlin (0 Wins, 4072 Points)

Kevin Harvick (0 Wins, 4056 Points)

Kurt Busch (0 Wins, 4040 Points)
