Medical Center Dedication to memorialize Ernie Thurston

Watkins Glen International dedicates infield care center in honor of Ernie Thurston 

Watkins Glen International is proud to announce their dedication of their infield care center to area native and long-time safety and emergency services leader, Ernie Thurston. The naming of the Ernie Thurston Medical Center took place this morning at a ribbon cutting ceremony. After spending a lifetime in the service of others, Thurston passed away in November.  Continue reading

Progress continues on DAYTONA Rising 

DAYTONA Rising is a $400 million reimagining of an American icon – Daytona International Speedway. Five expanded and redesigned entrances, or “injectors,” will lead fans to a series of escalators and elevators, transporting them to three different concourse levels. Each level features spacious social areas, or “neighborhoods,” along the nearly mile-long frontstretch. When redevelopment ends, Daytona International Speedway will have about 101,000 permanent, wider and more comfortable seats, twice as many restrooms and three times as many concession stands. In addition, the Speedway will feature over 60 luxury suites with track side views and a completely revamped hospitality experience for corporate guests. Continue reading

Auto Club Speedway officials announced Monday that Arcadia’s Matt Rogers, TV personality, singer/songwriter and currently the host of GSN’s culinary reality series “Beat The Chefs” will perform the National Anthem prior to Saturday’s TreatMyClot.com 300 NNS race at Auto Club Speedway, March 22 at 2 p.m.PT, televised on ESPN.  Continue reading
