Gearing Up for Race Weekend at Richmond with Dennis Bickmeier

Some of the best short-track racing in the world occurs at the Richmond International Raceway. Twice a year, fans pour into the facility to witness classic short-track racing and to see the stars of NASCAR do what they do best. It takes many people to run the show, but Track President Dennis Bickmeier oversees the entire facility. He is just as excited as race fans for the upcoming race weekend and expects fans to have a great experience. In addition to all the great things the track has had in the past, they have added even more for this season.

Erik Jones Teams with Venturini Motorsports for Pocono and Kentucky

Already gaining valuable experience at the youngest age possible by driving for Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM) in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS), Erik Jones will also be taking advantage of a lowered minimum age rule set in place by the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA).

The ARCA Racing Series announced late last year they would be lowering the age limit at the 2.5 mile triangle found at Pocono Raceway as well as the 1.5 mile oval at Kentucky Speedway to eligible 17 year-olds.  An excellent opportunity to gain some Super Speedway experience,the Michigan native will be teaming back up with Venturini Motorsports for the June 8th Pocono ARCA 200 and the August 2nd Pennsylvania ARCA 125 at Pocono Raceway as well as the September 20th Kentucky ARCA 200 at Kentucky Speedway. Over the past weekend, several drivers faced the potential of penalties from NASCAR for rule violations. Besides the penalties, fines and suspensions for Sprint Cup Series drivers Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano and their teams, NASCAR also issued penalties and fines to fellow Sprint Cup driver Martin Truex Jr and Camping World Truck Series driver, Ron Hornaday Jr.
