Lowe’s Home Improvement isn’t going anywhere in 2014. Jimmie Johnson has been sponsored by Lowe’s his entire Sprint Cup series career and the company doesn’t look to be going anywhere.
During the Chevrolet SS unveiling at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday, Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports, was asked about rumors that Lowe’s would not be returning to his organization. Hendrick was adamant that rumors were false and that he is confident Lowe’s will continue to sponsor Jimmie Johnson in 2014.
“I don’t know where (the rumors) came from, but (Lowe’s will) be back. Wishful thinking, maybe, by some of the other folks, but they’ll be back.”
A new deal between Lowe’s and Hendrick Motorsports has not been signed but both sides are confident they will be together in 2014.
“We’ve got a verbal,” Hendrick stated. “We’ll button it up, but it’s early.”
Jimmie Johnson fans, don’t worry, the blue and white colors won’t be changing anytime soon.

Rookie Wins The Coors Light Pole For The Daytona 500
Danica Patrick made NASCAR history today during Coors Light Pole qualifying for the Daytona 500, becoming the first female driver to win a pole at NASCAR’s top level – the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
During qualifying for the sport’s marquee event, Patrick turned a lap of 196.434 mph (45.817 seconds), giving her the first starting position for next Sunday’s Daytona 500 (1 p.m. on FOX, FOX Deportes, Motor Racing Network Radio and SiriusXM Satellite Radio). The season-opening Daytona 500 Sprint Cup Series drivers go through a unique qualifying process unlike any other race of the season
Furthermore, qualifying for the Daytona 500 is unlike any other auto racing qualifying procedure. Drivers have multiple opportunities to qualify for the season-opening race, as opposed to the usual format of one qualifying session per event.
The first chance comes via Daytona 500 Coors LightPole Qualifying, which will be held Sunday, Feb. 17 on FOX. The other chance is the Duel at Daytona, two 150-mile qualifying races held on Thursday, Feb. 21 on SPEED.
