For the fifth-consecutive year, NASCAR is returning to Las Vegas for the post season Sprint Cup Series Champion’s Week™, a star-studded, entertainment-filled celebration for the series champion and fans, culminating with one of NASCAR’s marquee events, the Sprint Cup Series Awards. Since 2009, the awards have been held at Wynn Las Vegas and have grown in stature and prestige with each passing year.

This year’s awards are taking place December 6, returning to Wynn Las Vegas with FOX Sports 2 and NASCAR.com providing coverage from 9pm – midnight ET. Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90 is providing live coverage beginning at 8pm ET. The show will also re-air on FOX Sports 1 at noon ET on December 8. Continue reading →

NASCAR Announces 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Schedule

Innovative Air Titan Track Drying Technology At Every Sprint Cup Race Next Season

NASCAR announced today the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule for the 2014 season, the 66th year of racing for the sport’s premier series.

In addition to the schedule unveiling, NASCAR announced that its revolutionary Air Titan track drying system will be available at every NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race weekend throughout the 2014 season.

For the 13th consecutive year, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule will consist of 36 points races as well as two additional weekends featuring non-points events. The Sprint Unlimited (Feb. 15) and two Daytona 500 qualifying races (both on Feb. 20) will take place before the season officially gets underway. The NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway will take place on May 17, broadcast on FOX Sports 1.  Continue reading →

Number 17 pays off big for Timothy Peters in Las Vegas

Timothy Peters took advantage of a rare mistake by Ron Hornaday Jr. on the last restart at Las Vegas Motor Speedway to win the Smith’s 350 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race.

Peters started 12th and when the last caution came out late in the race, he was running second to Hornaday, who is known for his prowess on restarts. When the green flag flew with two laps to go, Hornaday spun his tires and Peters powered to the lead. As Hornaday faded back, Peters held off Johnny Sauter to record his seventh career victory, his second of the season and his first in Las Vegas. Continue reading →
