A native of Austin, Texas – his namesake inspiration – Austin Wayne Self is advancing his career after finishing runner-up in the ARCA Racing Series with Mason Mitchell Motorsports last season. Self is moving up to NASCAR this year with a new team to the sport –  AM Racing – owned by his dad, Tim Self.
