Making his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series début on Sunday, Brian Wong is driving for Venturini Motorsports at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in Bowmanville, Ontario.

The 26-year-old native of Newport Beach, CA, is a veteran of road course racing and stock cars, so competitors beware. Wong is excited about racing north of the border, but remains humble about his experience this weekend.

“Words cannot express my excitement for this weekend,” stated Wong. “This is by far the most high-profile event in my stock car career and to say I’m looking forward to it would be an understatement. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series offers some of the best racing in the world and driving a vehicle like that at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park where you really have to be on your toes the whole time should make for a very challenging weekend.”

Brian Wong finished 17th in the first of two scheduled practice sessions at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, completing 11-laps during the 55-minute session with a fast lap of 106.825 / 82.868 seconds on the 2.459 mile course.

Sponsoring Wong this weekend is World Stage Racing, who has partnered with renowned celebrity Chef David Chang and his award-winning restaurant, Momofuku. Momofuku, with locations in New York City, Toronto and Sydney, San Pellegino has featured the prestigious restaurant as one of the Top-50 for five straight years.

“Having Momofuku on board only makes it that much sweeter. Anyone who is familiar with their restaurants knows why it’s a huge honor to represent them this weekend. The quality of their dining experience, combined with their unique approach to customer engagement, lines up perfectly with our brand.”

The third-annual Chevrolet Silverado race is Venturini Motorsports’ fifth (Daytona, Martinsville, Kansas & Kentucky) Camping World Truck Series event of the ’15 season. Wong’s teammates this weekend include Matt Tifft, who has made three team starts with a season best ninth-place finish at Martinsville and Cody Coughlin who made his series début at Kentucky.

Wong has made three career ARCA Racing Series starts with Venturini Motorsports – all on road courses – finishing a career best second at New Jersey Motorsports Park in 2014. Recognized as the first Chinese American to score a podium finish in both the American Le Mans Series – now TUDOR United Sports Car Series – as well as the ARCA Series, Wong looks forward to racing with the Camping World Truck Series this weekend.
