Jeff Gordon Ready to Step into Dale Earnhardt’s No. 88 Chevrolet

Despite turning in a praiseworthy performance at New Hampshire, Alex Bowman won’t be in the No. 88 car if Earnhardt isn’t cleared to drive next weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

That duty will fall to Jeff Gordon, who is ready to interrupt his retirement, if need be. The four-time champion was on vacation in the south of France when team owner Rick Hendrick called. Continue reading

John Wes Townley Not Cleared for Truck Return; Brady Boswell Expected to Drive at Eldora Speedway

Continuing to experience concussion-like symptoms, veteran NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver John Wes Townley will sit out Wednesday’s Aspen Dental Eldora Dirt Derby at Eldora Speedway.

A spokesperson for Athenian Motorsports confirmed the news to CATCHFENCE.com, stating that Townley was not medically cleared to return to competition this week. Continue reading

Steve O’Donnell Addresses No. 20 Failed Post Race Laser Inspection at NHMS

LaJoie Picks Up First K&N Pro East Win Since 2012 at New Hampshire

Corey LaJoie returned to Victory Lane in dominating style Saturday night.

LaJoie led the final 34 laps and drove away from the field on a green-white-checkered finish to win the United Site Services 70 at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. It was LaJoie’s first win since 2012 when he had five victories en route to a runner-up finish in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. Continue reading
