In 1776, according to the US Census Bureau, the United States had an estimated population of 2.5 million people. This Fourth of July, more than 313.9 million people are living in the United States and many of them will be celebrating Independence Day.

an amazing 68.3 million cases of beer is sold nationwide on July Fourth, for which Americans will spend $341 million. According to the Beer Institute, the Fourth of July is the top holiday for beer sales, followed by Labor Day, Memorial Day, Father’s Day and Christmas.

The weight of fireworks used in the annual New York City fireworks display is 22 tons. Americans spend more than $600 million on fireworks each year.

The value of US manufacturers’ shipments of fireworks and pyrotechnics is $231.8 million.
An amazing 500,000 people attend the Washington DC Fourth of July celebration each year.

There are 31 places that have “liberty” in their names. Iowa with four, has more of these places than any other state – Libertyville, New Liberty, North Liberty and West Liberty.

There are 35 places using “eagle” in their names. The most populous one is Eagle Pass, Texas, with a population of 26,248.
The populous city using “independence” in their name is Independence, MO with a population of 116,830. There are only 11 places using “independence” in their names.

Places using “freedom” in their names are 9. The most populous one is New Freedom, PA, with a population of 4,464.

There is only 1 place that has “patriot” in it’s name – Patriot, IN has a population of 209.

There are 5 places that have “America” in their names, with the most populous one being American Fork, UT, with a population of 26,263.
