It is the most anticipated NASCAR race in years. The MudSummer Classic isn’t just another race; it’s a race that writes its own chapter in the history books. NASCAR’s return to dirt isn’t just a small thing, it’s a huge deal and that huge deal is arriving tonight.

On Wednesday Night, July 24, 2013 the Camping World Truck Series will take to Eldora Speedway for a night of trucks going all slideways across the track. The action starts at 8:00 PM EST with five heat races determining the field along with an extra last chance race, to decide the last four positions in the main event. The main event will consist of three segments with 60, 50, and 40 laps and 30 trucks will be in it altogether.

The weather for race day looks great with partly cloudy conditions, a high of 73 F, and only a 10% chance of rain. So it looks like drivers will be racing on Wednesday Night.

As always, the race is broadcast on SPEED. Clint Bowyer is the special guest on the broadcast throughout the night. He has a history of dirt racing, so his expertise may come in handy.

Since this is a very special event, many drivers are coming to the Truck Series for this one spectacular night. Some of the most well-known dirt track specialists in the field include Tracy Hines (#13), Dave Blaney (#19), Kyle Larson (#30), Ryan Newman (#34), Austin Dillon (#39), JR Heffner (#44), Scott Bloomquist (#51), Ken Schrader (#52), and Kenny Wallace (#81).

Even though the race isn’t a typical Truck Series event, the points for the championship contenders are still be up for grabs. Point leader Matt Crafton can’t have a bad night or he may jeopardize his place atop the standings to drivers like Jeb Burton or even James Buescher. These guys will be looking to gain some ground on Crafton since the season is just about at its homestretch.

Nothing is normal about the MudSummer Classic and with the amount of drivers coming in for the race, along with the special format, expect an exciting show. Not a typical Truck show either, trucks will be spraying mud, sliding sideways, and some will have bent up sheet metal.
