This episode begins with Steve Burkett, the co-owner Eye-Scout, LLC and SL1, Inc. Steven has been recognized for his technology expertise by FOX Sports and WAAY31 ABC Sports as well as SiriusXM NFL Radio where he was interviewed by Jim Miller and Alex Marvez. Steve was also recognized as a business and technology leader in Ted Sundquist’s recent McGraw Hill published book “Taking Your Team to the Top”. He has also been a special guest on many other radio sports shows and is a regular contributor to The Football Educator website as a technology expert and writer. When last on our show, Steve also revealed he’s a NASCAR fan and expressed his desire to Talk some NASCAR with our Fan4Racing panel. (Note: Due to illness Steve Burkett will be on our next episode Monday, November 4th) So instead, Ralph Garcia CEO of NGN-National Gridiron Network, is on the show with some great news to share!

Next, is Erik Jones, late model driver in ARCA with a limited schedule in NASCAR’s Camping World Truck Series and champion of CRA’s Super Winchester 400. Erik shares more great news for him and his team in his next two races with Super Late Models at Nashville and the Camping World Truck Series at Phoenix Raceway.

Erik Jones Takes Aim and Wins the Winchester 400

Earlier this month, Erik Jones, took aim, was steady, and fired the famed Winchester Rifle after becoming the victor of the 42nd Annual Winchester 400 at Winchester (Ind.) Speedway.  With the victory, the 17-year-old Michigan native joined current boss Kyle Busch as one of six drivers to win both the prestigious Winchester 400 and the Snowball Derby, accomplishing the feat in less than a year  Continue reading

A season full of ups and downs was at its highest Sunday afternoon for Jeff Gordon. It had been an eight year dry spell for Gordon at Martinsville. He once dominated this track, but as of late, success has not been present for the four-time champion. That all changed with this win, however. Gordon took his first victory of 2013 to keep the championship in sight. Gordon made it to victory lane by keeping his nose out of trouble throughout the day. Many drivers are unable to say that as lots of beating and banging went down on the Virginia short-track throughout the day. Continue reading

The clock struck one for rookie Darrell Wallace Jr. on Saturday afternoon at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway, as he earned his first career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series win in the Kroger 250.

By claiming the victory, Wallace Jr., who turned 20 on October 8 became the first African-American driver to win a NASCAR national touring series event since Wendell Scott won in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) on December 1, 1963 in Jacksonville, Fla., a span of five decades. Continue reading

Arch Madness: Gateway Returns to Truck Schedule in 2014

NASCAR today announced the 2014 schedule for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, a slate that includes the return to racing at Gateway Motorsports Park for the first time since 2010.

Gateway, a 1.25-mile oval in Madison, Ill., just outside of St. Louis, hosted truck series races from 1998-2010 with only one repeat winner in its 13-race history – Ted Musgrave, who won in 2001 and 2005. NASCAR Sprint Cup Series star Kevin Harvick won the most recent Gateway race, in July of 2010.  Continue reading
