Indianapolis has seen its fair share of history. For NASCAR, it all started 20 years ago when the Sprint Cup Series ran at the Brickyard for the very first time. The famous yard of bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway was home to a new series last season, and once again in 2013, the that series is returning for their next race. A successful debut at the world-famous circuit has the Nationwide Series returning this weekend for the second annual Indiana 250. Cup regulars stole the show by using their track experience last season, but the Nationwide regulars are prepared to put up a fight with one race under their belts. Open-wheel, NASCAR veteran also plans to compete in Sprint Cup event July 28 at IMS
AJ Allmendinger will add a third race to his Indianapolis Motor Speedway resume later this month, as he will drive for Michael Shank Racing in the Brickyard Grand Prix GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series race Friday, July 26 during the Kroger Super Weekend at the Brickyard.
Allmendinger will share driving duties in the No. 6 Michael Shank Racing Ford-Riley with Firestone Indy Lights veteran Gustavo Yacaman in the three-hour sports car race on the 13-turn, 2.534-mile Grand Prix road course at IMS. Continue reading →
