NASCAR’s top-three national series are rolling into Daytona International Speedway for their annual Preseason Thunder testing and Fan Fest. Activities begin on Thursday, Jan 9 and continue through Tuesday, Jan 14. Throughout the weekend, drivers and NASCAR executives are planning a busy schedule of testing, analyzing, a media tour and Fan Fest.
On-track testing will run each day from 9 am to noon ET and 1 to 5 pm ET. Fox Sports 1 is broadcasting Preseason Thunder testing live on Thursday and Friday from 1 to 5pm ET, and on Saturday, from 3 to 7 pm ET (same day delay).
Several media interviews are on the schedule with drivers, Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch, Jimmie Johnson, Carl Edwards, Jeff Gordon, Matt Kenseth, Dale Earnhardt Jr, Joey Logano, James Buescher, Regan Smith, Trevor Bayne, Jeb Burton, Matt Crafton and Ryan Blaney. Other featured media interviews include a Daytona Rising Hard Hat Tour, a Sprint Unlimited Announcement with Denny Hamlin, Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Hammond, Mike Joy, Larry McReynolds and Darrell Waltrip, breakfast with NBC Sports Executive Producer, Sam Flood and Jeff Burton, and various NASCAR executives.
Preseason Thunder Fan Fests take place during the evening, 5:30 to 9:30 pm ET, on Thursday, Jan 9, for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and Saturday Jan 11, for the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Driver appearances are a big part of Fan Fest. Tickets are available at the gate and are $25 per person for Thursday, and $10 for Saturday. Kids 12 and under are free throughout testing.
