James Buescher is coming off three successful full-time seasons in NASCAR’s Camping World Truck Series, including a championship with four wins in 2012, adding two more victories in 2013. He also recorded one Nationwide Series win, taking the checkered flag in the 2012 series’ season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway.
For 2014, Buescher is excited about his new team, RAB Racing. They announced in December a multi-year agreement to compete full-time in the Nationwide Series. Buescher understands the importance of his experience as he looks forward to his future.
My first couple of years in NASCAR have been a dream come true, and I can’t thank Turner Scott Motorsports enough for the opportunity they have given me to develop my skills,” said Buescher. “I am very excited to be able to take the next step in my career, and I couldn’t be more thrilled about the opportunity that RAB Racing is giving me to run full-time in the Nationwide Series. I am really excited to get back behind the wheel of a Toyota and I am looking forward to driving their cars next year and RAB Racing is a solid organization with great people. I can’t wait to get to work with them.”
Veteran crew chief, Chris Rice will lead the No.99 team in the 2014 season. Last year, Rice earned two poles, two top-five finishes and six top-tens.
“Everyone at RAB Racing is honored to have James come on board to drive our No. 99 Toyota Camry,” said RAB Racing owner Robby Benton. “James has a tremendous amount of talent and experience, and we feel like he will take our program to the next level. I’m looking forward to what will likely be a very special season, not only for our team, but all of our partners as well. This is a great addition to the Toyota family, and I’m proud James saw the strength in our team to further his career.”
Earlier this month, Rheem manufacturing came on board to serve as primary sponsor on the 99 team for 27 races. Rheem was also a partner with Buescher in his 2013 Camping World Truck Series season and they are pleased to continue their long-standing support as a major NASCAR team sponsor. Rheem is one of the few sponsors, visiting victory lane in each of NASCAR’s national series, including the Daytona 500.
“I’m really excited that I can continue my relationship with Rheem,” said Buescher. “Rheem is a very high quality global company with highly respected brands and innovative technologies. I love that I can represent them both on and off the track. I was fortunate enough to give them a taste of victory last season, and I hope that I can follow that up by delivering many more wins and possibly a championship.”
Buescher’s first race with his new No. 99 team is at Daytona International Speedway competing in the DRIVE4COPD 300 on February 22, 2014.
