Team Penske Wants Their Name Back in the 2014 Title Fight

TeamPenske

Following a very strong 2012 came a rather disappointing 2013 for Team Penske. Brad Keselowski wasn’t able to back his championship up as he didn’t even qualify for the Chase. Joey Logano came in and was most successful for the team, but he wasn’t able to save the championship from falling out of Team Penske’s hands. With 2013 behind Team Penske, they now have their eyes set on returning to winning ways in 2014. The opportunities are endless for the team as their young gun duo has the ability to be incredibly successful this season.

Brad Keselowski

One thing no one expected out of Keselowski last season was frustration. No matter how hard Keselowski tried, he couldn’t return to his championship caliber form. It’s unusual for a champion to experience such a bad title defending season, but what is even more unusual is if the champion stays down for two straight years. With the right determination, Keselowski can bounce back for another phenomenal year in the Sprint Cup Series.

My Prediction: Keselowski is able to pick up one or two wins this season. He will make the Chase, but it will be difficult for him to advance past the second round.

Joey Logano

As Matt Kenseth scorched the field with his new team last season, what went without notice was the strong first year Logano had at Team Penske. Following a rough start to the season, Logano turned his year around and was able to be highly productive. Building off of last season will be crucial for Logano’s success in 2014. If he can start out hot, pick up a win or two, and stay consistent until Chase time, a chance at competing closely for the title will come.

My Prediction: Logano has a great start to the season. He will pick up a win early and be a lock for the Chase. He will make it pretty far in the Chase, but may come up short on making the final four.

Roger Penske has found a winning formula with the team he has assembled. No matter what the circumstances may be, Team Penske is always competing and doing well. 2014 will be no different as the team is more determined than ever to succeed. If they are the most determined and passionate in the garage, watch for Team Penske to soar close to another Sprint Cup championship.
