Dylan Kwasniewski will start from the pole in his NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) début in the DRIVE4COPD 300 at Daytona International Speedway.
The 18-year-old driver posted the fastest time in qualifying (192.078 mph) by hooking up with his Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM) teammates in the new qualifying format.
With rain threatening the area, NASCAR was able to get in one session and used those qualifying times to set the field.
This is Kwasniewski’s second pole of Speedweeks as he also won the pole for the ARCA race last Saturday.
Starting alongside him is teammate and current Sprint Cup Series rookie Kyle Larson. Larson’s NNS number changed from 32 to 42 to resemble his Cup Series ride.
Danica Patrick qualified third in the No. 30 Florida Lottery Chevrolet, making it a clean sweep for TSM.
Kwasniewski (2013) and Larson (2012) are both former K&N Pro Series East champions.
The DRIVE4COPD 300 begins Saturday, Feb. 22, at 1:15 p.m. on ESPN,
