LVMS expects smooth traffic flow for March 6 – 9 NASCAR Weekend; Lot 7 exit to receive top priority following races.

Las Vegas Motor Speedway officials are expecting another year of smooth vehicle flow for the upcoming NASCAR weekend.

“Thanks to the efforts of our local officials and law enforcement agencies, we once again expect smooth traffic flow each day during our NASCAR Weekend,” said LVMS president Chris Powell.

One major change will be a greater emphasis on egress from the Lucky 7 Preferred parking lot. This is the only paid lot on the LVMS property, and speedway officials have added an extra dedicated exit gate from this lot to allow for three exit lanes after the races on Saturday and Sunday.

“We have a commitment to people who purchase a premium parking pass to expedite their exit as quickly as possible,” Powell said. “For those who are concerned about making a quick exit, we recommend either purchasing a Lot 7 pass or using one of the various means of mass transportation.”

For the second consecutive year, Race Day Shuttles will service the event. Race fans may contact Race Day Shuttles at www.racedayshuttles.com or (702) 362-0264.

For those wishing to take a private charter to the races, LVMS recommends Key Tours. Key Tours has been providing service to the speedway for several years.  Key Tours can be contacted at www.keytourslv.com or (800) 261-2691. Buses and taxis will have dedicated exit lanes following the events.

A major point of emphasis also will be placed on illegally parked cars along Hollywood Boulevard. Cars parked on the sides of Hollywood in areas designated with no parking signs will be relocated to lots throughout the Las Vegas area.

The speedway will continue to crack down on the fraudulent use of handicapped placards. Speedway security will be checking the validity of handicapped passes on each vehicle.

The speedway has a video feature to assist drivers. Videos depicting the preferred entry and exit from the speedway may now be found online at www.lvms.com. The speedway also will give traffic updates via Twitter and KDWN AM-720 will provide traffic reports as well.

NASCAR Weekend begins on Thursday, March 6 with a free test day for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The weekend continues Friday, March 7 with Stratosphere Pole Day featuring practices for both the Kobalt 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race and Boyd Gaming 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race as well as qualifying for the Kobalt 400. The Boyd Gaming 300 is set for Saturday, March 8 and the Kobalt 400 will run on Sunday, March 9. Two nights of dirt-track racing will take place at the Dirt Track March 5 and 6 featuring the World of Outlaws.

Tickets for all events, Neon Garage passes and Lucky 7 parking permits are on sale at www.lvms.com or by calling (800) 644-4444. Follow LVMS on Facebook and Twitter.
