After spending many hours running thousands of practice laps under Bubba and Cale Gale’s supervision, Brandon Jones began his first year of competition midway through the 2010 season. The Gales were instrumental in Jones early development as a driver. He credits Cale for getting him started in racing and recognizes him as a mentor and friend.
Jones’ first full year of racing in 2011 was a valuable learning experience as he received track point championships at both Lanier Speedway and Gresham Motorsports Park. In 17 starts at Lanier and Gresham, Jones earned 16 top-five finishes, including five first-place finishes and five second-place finishes. He qualified for the pole starting spot in six of those races.
Competition and experience took a leap forward in 2012 as Jones competed in both PASS and UARA series. He also drove in a few K&N Pro Series races later in the season, placing in the top-five four times. He also earned six top-ten finishes and claimed his first win at Concord Speedway in a UARA race.
In 2013, Jones competed in PASS, UARA and NASCAR’s K&N Pro Series and for the first time competed in NASCAR’s Camping World Truck Series. It was during this season, Jones joined Turner Scott Motorsports as a part-time driver. For the season, he earned three top-five finishes and eight top-ten finishes, two of which were in the K&N Pro Series.
This year may become Jones’ most exciting season yet, as he is now a full-time driver in the K&N Pro Series East for Turner Scott Motorsports. Jones intends to garner attention in his quest to earn Rookie of the Year honors. He also has several Camping World Truck Series races on his schedule, as well as competing in PASS, CRA and ARCA series races this season.
Jones’ is now 11th in the K&N East point standings with his next series race, the Blue Ox 100 at Richmond International Raceway on April 25th. And Jones is racing at Salem Speedway with the ARCA series on April 27th.
