Calgary, Canada native, and at 17 years of age, Cameron Hayley is perhaps prepared more than most for the upcoming East Meets West K&N Pro Series Showdown in the Casey’s General Stores 150 at Iowa Speedway on May 17th.

In 2013 Cameron Hayley finished second in the K&N West Pro Series point standings and this year he’s racing in the K&N East with Turner Scott Motorsports and sits third in the point standings after five races this season.

From the age of seven, racing runs in Hayley’s veins and means everything in life.

“Racing is my life.” explains Hayley in his website bio at Cameron Hayley Motorsports.com. ” When I’m not on the track I am always thinking about it. Ever since I was little and I got my first go-kart, I have been living, breathing and eating race cars.

“I love the rush of going fast and feeling the g-forces as I go around the corners. I love to control the car and understand what is happening with it.  I get so much of a rush from going 80-mph around the track with 20 cars racing side-by-side with me. As I move up through all the different types of cars I can’t get enough of the first feeling you get as you stab the throttle on the track.

“Now as I move up to the late-model class, I am fully ready to take on the 600 horsepower beast and hope to have great success in it. When I grow up, I Hope to go to NASCAR University and learn about how the engines work and the cars themselves. I have dedicated my whole life to racing and I hope to race all my life. When I’m old enough and experienced enough, I hope to become a professional driver in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.”

And moving up in NASCAR’s development series is exactly what Hayley is accomplishing. In 2011, Hayley was the youngest driver to ever compete in the K&N Pro Series West.

After finishing seventh in NASCAR’s  K&N Pro Series West point standings in 2012, Hayley went on in 2013 to finish in the top-ten in all 15 series races along with 12 top-fives.  Throughout the season his first points win came at All-American Speedway in Roseville, CA and he rounded his accomplishments with a series’ high six poles. Hayley made his biggest splash in 2013 by winning the first annual (non-points) race at the UNOH Battle at the Beach at Daytona and with his announcement as part of the NASCAR Next program for the season.

For the 2014 season, Hayley is racing in the K&N Pro Series East and signed with a top-tier team at Turner Scott Motorsports. He earned the pole for their first race together at New Smyrna Speedway in February.

Hayley went on to finish the season-opener at New Smyrna Speedway in second and after five series races he has two top-fives and three top-ten finishes so far.

The K&N Pro Series East Meets West Showdown at Iowa speedway is a race made to order for Hayley. Fans can follow all the action at NASCAR Hometracks on Race Central powered by Speed51.com at 9 pm ET on Saturday, May 17th.
