Top Fuel newcomer Richie Crampton gave his Rookie of the Year bid a giant boost Sunday by winning the 45th annual Toyota NHRA Summernationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park. Crampton beat points leader Doug Kalitta in a thrilling last round, 3.819 to 3.848, becoming just the second Australian-born pro winner in NHRA history. Continue reading

In his rookie year, James Bickford won NASCAR’s Whelen All American Series Late Model championship at All American Speedway in 2013.  This season, Bickford is racing in the K&N Pro Series West, driving for Bob Bruncati Racing in the No. 6 Sunrise Ford.  He replaces Derek Thorn, the reigning K&N West champion.

Jimmie Johnson Dominates the Monster with Back-to-Back Wins

It came as little surprise that Jimmie Johnson was able to dominate the field Sunday at Dover International Speedway, a track where he has won nine NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races, more than any driver in NASCAR history.

What was stunning was Johnson’s public revelation that he’d had hernia surgery in December, a procedure which might have contributed to his slow start.  Continue reading
