Headlining the NTS World Truck Series lineup are 2013 Southern Super Series champion Daniel Hemric and 2012 Camping World Truck Series champion James Buescher, with Daniel Hemric competing full-time and contending for 2015 Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors. A third part-time entry will make more starts on the Camping World Truck Series tour, with Gray Gaulding confirmed for eight races and Scott Lagasse, Jr. behind the wheel for two events.
Daniel Hemric, who will pilot the No. 14 Chevrolet Silverado, has three previous Camping World Truck Series starts, one of which was fielded by NTS in 2014. The 24-year-old’s career highlights include championships in the Southern Super Series (2013), Legends Pro National (2008 & 2009), Legends Pro Summer Shootout (2012 & 2013), Blizzard Series (2013), JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour (2012) and a victory in the 2010 Legends Million at Charlotte Motor Speedway, winning $250,000, the largest paycheck in Legends car history. Hemric will also take part in three ARCA events in the No. 92 Chevrolet Impala, beginning with the season-opener in Daytona. Hemric will have crew chief Ryan McKinney calling the shots from atop the pit box in both his Camping World Truck Series and ARCA campaigns. California Clean Power will sponsor Hemric at Daytona International Speedway and Atlanta Motor Speedway, as well as in the Daytona ARCA event, with more sponsorship announcements forthcoming.
Buescher, who will be behind the wheel of NTS Motorsports’ full-time No. 31 Silverado for select races, captured the Camping World Truck Series championship in 2012 on the strength of four wins, 10 top fives and 14 top 10s. As a competitor in the Camping World Truck Series since 2008, Buescher has amassed six wins and five poles in the series, collecting an impressive 31 top fives and 60 top 10s. The 24-year-old from Plano, Texas has also made 91 starts in the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS), capturing his first-career victory at Daytona International Speedway in 2012. Veteran Chris Rice will lead Buescher and the No. 31 crew, serving as both crew chief and NTS Motorsports’ competition director. Buescher will have partner GunBroker.com on board his Silverado for his 2015 campaign.
In addition to its two full-time entries, NTS Motorsports will also field its No. 20 Chevrolet Silverado for several events in 2015. 16-year-old Gaulding will return to the No. 20 after competing in nine Camping World Truck Series events in 2014. The Colonial Heights, Virginia native’s best start (second) and best finish (fourth) both came in an impressive showing at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in Bowmanville, Ontario. Gaulding, who will once again be sponsored by Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, is scheduled to compete in eight events.
Scott Lagasse, Jr. is scheduled to be behind the wheel of the No. 20 for the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway and the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The 34-year-old from St. Augustine, Florida will be supported by the Florida Department of Transportation’s Alert Today, Alive Tomorrow initiative, in addition to the Boy Scouts of America. Veteran Camping World Truck Series crew chief Doug Howe will oversee both drivers from atop the pit box.
