Last week, Ben Rhodes threw out the first pitch at a St. Louis Cardinals game, as part of a media advance to promote the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Drivin’ for Lineman 200 brought to you by Altec. This week, is the first time he’ll race 160 laps at Gateway Motorsports Park in his first full season with ThorSport Racing.

After eight of 23 races, Rhodes is now third in the Sunoco Rookie of the Year standings. And although much of this season is all new for the NASCAR Next alumnus, in his track series’ debut at Iowa Speedway last weekend, Rhodes started tenth, raced consistently inside the top-five, even challenging for the race lead, and in the end finished fourth. That top-five showing was Rhodes’ Truck Series career best finish. Dalton Sargeant Excited to Head to Winchester, a Track that Suits his Driving Style

Dalton Sargeant is ready to compete this weekend at Winchester Speedway in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Herr’s Potato Chip 200. Sunday’s race will mark the seventh start of the season for Sargeant, who is slated to compete in 15 of the 20 races on the 2016 schedule with Venturini Motorsports.

Sargeant is coming off the worst finish of his rookie campaign, which was still a ninth-place result, two weeks ago at Michigan International Speedway.

The 18-year-old Boca Raton, Fla. native is paired with veteran crew chief Billy Venturini this season and the duo has experienced success from the start. Venturini is no stranger to the ARCA Racing Series as a driver, having recorded one win, 28 top-five and 75 top-ten finishes in 162 starts between 1994 and 2007. Continue reading →

Dominant Performance Leads Sam Hornish Jr to Victory at Iowa Speedway

Sam Hornish Jr., who hadn’t been in a car in 210 days, gave himself the perfect Father’s Day present on Sunday – a dominant victory in the sixth annual NASCAR XFINITY Series American Ethanol E15 250 presented by Enogen at Iowa Speedway.

Hornish, who last competed in a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race last November at Homestead-Miami Speedway, received a call Monday from Joe Gibbs Racing to substitute for injured driver Matt Tifft. He made the most of the opportunity, picking up his fourth career XFINITY Series win and second at Iowa. Overall, it was JGR’s ninth triumph in 14 races this season. Continue reading →
