There’s an incredible amount of work that goes on behind the scenes before and during every race weekend, often without much accolade or recognition. But, a couple of weeks ago our Fan4Racing Radio guest, Ross Chastain, NASCAR XFINITY Series driver with JD Motorsports with Gary Keller, made a special request that we invite Melanie Moss to appear on our show. His way of recognizing the amazing work she does behind the scenes for JD Motorsports with Gary Keller. 

Originally from the Boston area, Moss started at JD Motorsports last October and admits that she was never really a NASCAR fan, but her husband Daniel, a firefighter is a long-time fan of the sport. They now live in South Carolina with their daughter.

That allows Moss to do her job with JD Motorsports as a travel coördinator for the entire team, which includes XFINITY Series drivers Chastain, Ryan Preece and Garrett Smithley. But since starting her job last fall, Moss says she has taken on other roles in public relations, marketing, social media and managing the team website.

Moss has an interesting resume’ and is familiar with working hard behind the scenes having also worked in television as a Contestant Coordinator and Production Coordinator for The Amazing Race, Survivor, Undercover Boss and some HGTV/DIY shows.
