Daniel Suarez Wins First NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race as Chase Final is Set

William Byron’s bitter disappointment proved a boon for two of his Kyle Busch Motorsports teammates in Friday night’s Lucas Oil 150 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Phoenix International Raceway.

When the engine in Byron’s No. 9 Toyota expired on lap 141 of 150 – ending the championship run for the series’ most prolific winner this year – Kyle Busch Motorsports teammate Daniel Suarez took over the race lead and went on to score the first NCWTS victory of his career.

Byron’s elimination from the inaugural Camping World Truck Series Chase also helped teammate Christopher Bell, who claimed the last berth in the Championship 4 with a seventh-place finish. Bell joins second-place finisher Johnny Sauter, third-place Matt Crafton and fifth-place Timothy Peters with a chance to win the title next Friday at Homestead-Miami Speedway (8 p.m. ET on FS1). American-Made Ethanol from American-Grown Corn Has Helped Fuel Sport Since 2011;

Ten Million Miles Equivalent to 400 Laps Around the Earth

NASCAR announced today that it will surpass ten million competition miles on Sunoco Green E15, a biofuel blended with 15 percent American-made ethanol, by the end of the 2016 season. The achievement will be celebrated during the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series™ race at Phoenix International Raceway this weekend. The ten million miles will have been accumulated across practice, qualifying and racing laps since the biofuel was adopted by the sport.

Six years ago, NASCAR entered into a groundbreaking partnership with Sunoco and American Ethanol, launching its long-term biofuels program to reduce emissions across its three national series. After an exhaustive analysis, Sunoco formulated Sunoco Green E15 to allow for a seamless transition, and the biofuel made its debut at Daytona International Speedway in 2011. All the ethanol for Green E15 is produced from American-grown corn at Sunoco’s ethanol manufacturing facility in Fulton, N.Y.  Continue reading →

Sixteen-Time Grammy Award Winner to Perform at Annual Event Honoring the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion

Grammy Award-winning artist Sting will perform at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards on Friday, Dec. 2, at Wynn Las Vegas. The finale of NASCAR Champion’s Week festivities, the annual awards show brings together some of the greatest names in sports and entertainment to celebrate the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion, team owner and 16 Chase drivers.

Sting will headline the event, performing both a classic hit and a selection from his new album, 57th & 9th, released November 11 on A&M/Interscope Records. His twelfth studio album and first rock/pop project in more than a decade, the ten-song collection represents a wide range of Sting’s musical and songwriting styles, including the raucous first single “I Can’t Stop Thinking About You,” the anthemic, “50,000” and the ferocious, Road Warrior-style imagery of, “Petrol Head.” The latter is also the aptly named anthem of NASCAR’s upcoming social video release designed to build anticipation for the final two races of the season and ultimately the crowning of a new champion.  Continue reading →

ARCA Racing Series Releases 2017 Schedule

The 65th consecutive season for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards is set in stone, as Series officials released the 2017 schedule Thursday to include 20 race-dates across 13 states.

Another healthy mix of superspeedways, paved short tracks, dirt tracks and a road course will highlight the 2017 tour, including returns trips to Elko Speedway in Minnesota and Road America in Wisconsin.
