As NASCAR returns to the East this weekend at Martinsville Speedway, they will make some changes to their inspection process.
NASCAR’s Senior VP of Competition, Scott Miller was on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio this morning and discussed the change that will take place this weekend at Martinsville Speedway.
“Post-qualifying and pre-race inspection are going to be lumped into one major inspection,” Miller explained. “We are actually kind of looking forward to that as a way forward. It would be really good if we could get it down to one major inspection for the weekend.”
The idea of lumping the inspections together is to give fans more access to their drivers on the track versus in the garage. Keep in mind, however, that passing any inspection is solely on the team and not the NASCAR sanctioning body.
