Raising the bar throughout his career, Christopher Bell with Joe Gibbs Racing has found his stride in NASCAR’s Xfinity Series by winning two straight races at Kentucky and New Hampshire – he has a total of three victories this year. Now his Joe Gibbs Racing No. 20 team is at Iowa Speedway and Bell is ready to make it three-straight victories (fourth of the season) in the US Cellular 250 at 5 pm ET on Saturday.

Heading into Iowa this weekend, Bell is second in the series point standings but is actually the number one-seeded driver in the series playoffs with three victories so far and is tied with Kyle Larson. Bell’s seeding is higher than Larson despite the tie in victories because of his points standing of second along with his three poles, 11 top-fives (series-most), and an average finish of 10.3.

“We’ve been working really hard and we’ve been fast at almost any style race track that we go to,” says Bell.  “I’m glad we were able to win in this series to prove that to everybody.

“I think we’ve got a good shot at it (a win at Iowa),” continues Bell. “We’ve been really fast here at Iowa. Iowa’s been a great race track for Joe Gibbs Racing as a company. So we’ve got a really good shot at it. We just have to go out there and capitalize on a really fast race car and see if I can go 250 laps without screwing it up.”

If Bell can pull off his third win in as many races, he can join seven other drivers tied for the second-most consecutive wins in the series. Holding the NASCAR Xfinity Series record is Sam Ard with four straight victories in 1983 at South Boston, Martinsville, Rougemont, and Charlotte Motor Speedway.

With just two starts at Iowa, Bell finished runner-up to Justin Allgaier in their June race at the ‘Fastest Short Track on the Planet.’ So watch for Bell to improve his result by one spot on Saturday.

The US Cellular 250 at Iowa Speedway starts at 5 pm ET Saturday, July 28th on FOX Sports 1.
