Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton led flag-to-flag to claim his first win of the 2014 Formula One season in Malaysia. It was the driver’s first victory in the Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix.

Hamilton won the pole for the race despite wet conditions in qualifying. Once the green flag dropped, the 2008 champ was out on a Sunday drive. Continue reading

For this week’s feature, I decided to recap the last Cup race run on my friend’s birthday, the Goody’s Cool Orange 500 from Martinsville Speedway, which was on March 30, 2008.

Fairhope, AL native Grant Enfinger found himself in a familiar place at Mobile International speedway – in victory lane.

Enfinger won the ARCA Mobile 200 for the second straight year and once again in dominant fashion. He led 185 laps on the day and even the caution-filled race did not halt his progress. The Daytona ARCA winner pulled away by 1.125 seconds over second place at the finish. Continue reading

ARCA Series Mobile Preview

The ARCA Racing Series heads to the Mobile International Speedway for the third straight year. The trophy has stayed in the state, as Alabama drivers Cale Gale and Grant Enfinger won the first two events.

Heading into this weekend, Enfinger appears as the hands down favorite. He is coming off a win in the Lucas Oil 200 at Daytona and is looking to make it two-for-two on the season. Enfinger can become the first driver since Jimmy Horton in 1990 to win the first two ARCA events to start the year.
