Grabbing his first K&N Pro Series East win Saturday night at Bristol Motor Speedway, 17-year-old, Kyle Benjamin is one to watch this season.
The PittLite 125 is Benjamin’s seventh series start and he represents the third different winner in as many events for the 2015 season. Austin Hill won at Daytona, and William Byron celebrated his first series victory at Greenville-Pickens.
During the last 20 laps, Roush Fenway development driver Benjamin raced his No. 27 Eibach Ford side-by-side with William Byron. Keeping his composure, Benjamin held off Byron on the last restart as he raced his way to the checkered flag.
Scott Heckert finished third with Kaz Grala and Brandon Jones rounding out the top-five.
Last year’s winner, Eddie MacDonald finished sixth with Austin Hill, Daniel Hemric, JJ Haley and Rico Abreu round out the top-ten finishers.
Although Byron is now the points leader by three points over Austin Hill, Benjamin is third, followed by Gray Gaulding in fourth and Kaz Grala in fifth.
