Rain was the name of the game Sunday at Bristol Motor Speedway. It delayed the start of the race and went on to cause much more havoc when it brought the entire day to an end. When the skies opened up with two laps remaining, it was Carl Edwards leading the way after strategy paved his way to victory lane. The No.99 team decided to stay out on a late caution and that move ultimately won them the race. Continue reading

Whether you love him or hate him, there is no denying that Kyle Busch is one of the best modern-day drivers at Bristol Motor Speedway. He took his third straight Nationwide Series victory at Bristol on Saturday afternoon. He faced challenges from Matt Kenseth and Kevin Harvick throughout the race, but he was able to hold them off en route to victory.

Kyle Larson started the day out front, but by Lap 3, it was another Kyle leading the way. Busch didn’t take off from there however, as Matt Kenseth ran him down and passed him with the help of some lap traffic on Lap 30.

Kenseth controlled the field for much of the middle part of the race. He didn’t face another challenge for the top spot until 90 laps remained.

Ryan Reed’s tough start to the season continued in the race as he took another hard hit. Slight contact from James Buescher sent the No.16 car spinning into the frontstretch wall where he made very hard contact. Reed was okay. Continue reading

A strategy-filled Kobalt Tools 400 came down to the very last lap on Sunday. It was Daytona 500 winner Dale Earnhardt Jr. coming up half a lap short as his fuel tank ran empty while he was motoring down the backstretch with victory in his sight. This allowed Brad Keselowski to regain the top spot, which he held for most of the second half of race, and score his first victory of the season. Continue reading

There are some days when a driver dominates and then there are some when a driver annihilates the field. Kevin Harvick had a stellar day in the desert on Sunday. Once he got out front early in the event, he didn’t look back for a second. He was able to control the race and at the end of the day, that put him in victory lane for the third time in the last four Phoenix races. His sponsor Jimmy John’s has the catch phrase “freaky-fast” which describes their service, but in this race it was describing the man behind the wheel. Continue reading
