Last June when the Sprint Cup Series was at Michigan, a long winless streak was broken by NASCAR’s most popular driver. Junior Nation rejoiced as Dale Earnhardt Jr. pulled into victory lane to celebrate his first Cup win since 2008. It was a day that Earnhardt Jr. and his fans won’t soon forget, but they are also hoping they can get to victory lane again sometime soon. Earnhardt Jr. showed his strength on the freshly repaved Michigan and that could give him a leg-up for this weekend. Nationwide Series Alliance Truck Parts 250 Preview

The Irish Hills will be the host of this weekend’s Nationwide Series race, the Alliance Truck Parts 250. Michigan has turned into a bad fast track after the repave of track before last season. Drivers will be testing the limits of this two-mile track and it will surely be a fight all afternoon long. Penalties have been issued to the No. 29 team in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series as a result of violations following the June 7 event at Texas Motor Speedway.

The No. 29 truck was found to have violated Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing); 12-4J (any determination by NASCAR officials that the race equipment used in the event does not conform to NASCAR rules detailed in Section 20-B of the rule book) and 20B-12.8.1A (The roof failed to meet the minimum height requirement during post-race inspection) of the 2013 rule book.

As a result of this violation, crew chief Doug Randolph has been fined $5,000. The team has also been docked six championship driver (Ryan Blaney) and six championship truck owner (Brad Keselowski) points.
