CaptureChampionship Contenders Share Common Goal – Winning

Showcasing the exceptional talents of this season’s championship contenders on one of NASCAR’s most competitive stages has appeared almost seamless for the top-three in Nationwide Series standings.

Chase Elliott, Elliott Sadler and Regan Smith all have posted wins, are only separated by three points in the standings and have average finishing positions in the top-ten. The feat for some has seemed almost impossible – yet these three have faced the insurmountable with ease.  Continue reading

CWTSFFDegaJeb Burton Focusing on a Season Turn Around at Kansas Speedway

After testing at the 1.5-mile Charlotte Motor Speedway last week, Jeb Burton heads to another 1.5-mile track – Kansas Speedway – in two weeks with a focus to turn his season around.

The 2014 season has not been what Burton expected after changing teams, but all that may change at Kansas. Last season Burton won his only truck series win on another 1.5-mile track (Texas) and Kansas is the first race this season on a track of the same size.  Continue reading

The 30th season of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour begins this weekend with the Icebreaker 150 presented by Town Fair Tire at Thompson (Conn.) Speedway Motorsports Park on Sunday, April 6. Thompson played host to the inaugural Whelen Modified Tour event on March 31, 1985; a race appropriately won by the “King of the Modifieds,” NASCAR Hall of Famer Richie Evans. For the 2014 campaign, fans can expect to see 23-year-old NASCAR Next driver and 2013 Tour champion Ryan Preece try to become the first driver since Tony Hirschman (2004-05) to successfully defend the title.

After a rainout at Caraway on March 29, the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour returns to action at South Boston (Va.) Speedway on Saturday, April 5. Similar to his 2013 season, three-time defending champion George Brunnhoelzl III enters Saturday’s South Boston 150 with two top-five finishes through the season’s first two events. A run of three straight wins began with the South Boston 150 a year ago.

The NASCAR Mexico Toyota Series returns to the track Saturday, April 5 at Mexico City for its second race of the season – and the first in Mexico. Daniel Suarez won the opener at Phoenix International Raceway in February. The 22-year-old NASCAR Next and Drive For Diversity driver has two straight series wins, dating back to last year’s finale in Mexico City.

FansChoice.tv will feature live streaming of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series events from Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Wash., Langley Speedway in Hampton, Va., and South Boston on Saturday, in addition to Thompson on Saturday and Sunday. Both the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race at Thompson and NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour race at South Boston will also be streamed on the site.

10 Years Of The Whelen Southern Modified Tour

The NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour will have a milestone weekend when the 2014 season takes the green flag on Sunday at Caraway Speedway in Sophia, N.C. The Whelen Season Opener 150 will launch the 10th season of competition for the Whelen Southern Modified Tour, which held its inaugural event at Caraway on March 26, 2005. George Brunnhoelzl III is a two-time winner of the Caraway opener, and will look to Sunday’s event as an opportunity to launch a potentially historic fourth consecutive championship season. His Whelen Season Opener 150 triumphs in 2011 and 2012 both led to eventual titles. Continue reading
