From La Mirada, California, the 18-year-old is driving the No. 15 JD Motorsports Cranio Care Bears Chevrolet. Hattori Racing Enterprises is an anomaly within NASCAR ranks as they participate in the K&N Pro Series East along with the Gander Outdoors Truck Series, where they won the championship title last year with Brett Moffitt. And that’s because their participation in the sport gives the two series an amazing international exposure that is driven by the man behind the organization. That man is Shigeaki Hattori who came to the United States from Japan at the age of 30 in 1995.

Former president of MRN radio, David Hyatt knows what it takes to give the fans what they want after 20 plus years at the helm. He brings that same mentality to his current role as president of Iowa Speedway, now in just his second full season in the position. With the races in 2019 scheduled the way they were, the race track ended up with doubleheader race weekends back-to-back, making for a very busy couple of weeks hosting the NTT Indy Car Series, the ARCA Menards Series last week and both the K&N Pro Series and Xfinity Series under the NASCAR banner this week. But as the saying goes, sometimes you have to make lemonade from the lemons you are given and Hyatt saw this as an opportunity to maximize fan interaction, thus Iowa Speedweeks was born.

Michael Annett from Des Moines, IA is happy to be at Iowa Speedway this weekend for the NASCAR Xfinity Series US Cellular 250 on Saturday afternoon. the 0.875-mile oval is his home track and he’ll have lots of support from family and friends. This has been a banner year for Annett who is racing with JR Motorsports and at this point of the season is now eighth in the series point standings and with one win under his belt, he’s on his way to his first playoffs this fall.
