Turner Scott Motorsports Closes the No. 30 Camping World Truck Series Team

TSMlogoTurner Scott Motorsports announced today that it has taken the regrettable but necessary steps to layoff 18 employees company-wide as a result of ending operations of the No. 30 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series team and to stay competitive throughout the rest of the 2014 season.

“The decision to lay-off any employee is painful and we realize the affects it has on their lives,” said Harry Scott Jr, who’s investment firm is a co-owner of TSM. “However, the decisions made by TSM today are necessary and the responsible steps for all TSM to ensure our commitment to our employees, partners and fans to be as competitive as possible.”

The company notified employees this afternoon and will do all it can to help those affected to find new roles in the industry.

After conflicting reports last week, on the status of Turner Scott Motorsports organization, it turned out the only team missing from the Camping World Truck Series at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park was the No. 30 team of Ron Hornaday Jr.

Fountain Of Youth

Last season’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series visit to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, Ontario proved a battle of the sport’s young blood with Chase Elliot at 17 years and nine months, shaking off Ty Dillon at 21 years and six months, on the last lap to become the youngest winner in NASCAR national series history – a record broken two months later by NASCAR Next member Erik Jones at 17 years, five months, nine days.

Sunday’s Chevrolet Silverado 250 could make history once again as John Hunter Nemechek at 17 years and two months and NASCAR Next prospects Gray Gaulding at 16 years and six months and Cole Custer at 16 years and seven months have a shot to break the record for youngest race winner.
