Crafton Wins Homestead Truck Race; Erik Jones Claims Series Title

As strong as he was in winning Friday night’s Ford EcoBoost 200, Matt Crafton was already looking ahead to 2016.

Crafton, with hopes for a third consecutive NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship dashed by a crash at Phoenix last week, won his sixth race of the season, holding off John Hunter Nemechek and Tyler Reddick in the season finale.

Although Crafton’s No. 88 Toyota Tundra finished 2.9 seconds ahead of Nemechek and more than six seconds ahead of Reddick, the 39-year-old veteran still wound up third in the point standings, 15 behind 19-year-old Erik Jones. Continue reading

David Levine held the ARCA Racing Series Scott Rookie Challenge points lead for the most of the 2015 season. Kyle Weatherman took over the Rookie points lead by two points in race 19 of 20 at Kentucky, then held off Levine in the season finale at Kansas to claim the title.

Now the two ARCA rivals are taking their battle to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Both are making their Truck Series début in the Ford Ecoboost 200 with Lira Motorsports during Ford Championship Weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 20th.

Wallace wins at Homestead, as Crafton claims second straight Truck Series titlel

 

 

After breathtaking three-wide racing during the final 20-lap green-flag run, Darrell “Bubba” Wallace Jr. held off hard-charging Keystone Light Polesitter Kyle Larson to win Friday night’s Ford EcoBoost 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Thrilling Truck Finale Leaves Busch Victorious, Crafton as Champion

A season of fantastic racing for the Camping World Truck Series ended with more on Friday night. Exhilarating restarts in the last laps of the race left the door open for any driver to win. Kyle Busch proved too strong as he hung on for his fifth truck victory of the season. His performance also claimed the owner’s championship for Kyle Busch Motorsports. The drivers crown was given to Matt Crafton as he only needed to start the race, to take home the series’ championship trophy. Continue reading
