The No. 5s GALT, Wauters Motorsports team headed west with Dalton Sargeant to Bakersfield, California for the inaugural Winter Showdown from Kern County Raceway and finished in the second position.  The 16-year-old shocked the short track racing community once again by competing like a veteran, but ultimately finishing a mere five-car lengths short of the eventual winner, veteran Bubba Pollard in the 250-lap event.  The second-place finish was Sargeant’s third runner-up finishing position in four events. 17-year-old Ben Rhodes notches his first K&N Pro Series East Victory at Greenville

The win is a week late from Ben Rhodes perspective, but Saturday at Greenville Pickens Speedway Ben Rhodes notched his first career and series’ victory.

Last week at Bristol Motor Speedway, Rhodes led all but the last two laps, keeping him from his first career win. This weekend Rhodes led the last 26 laps en route to victory lane in the Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 150.  Continue reading

The K&N Pro Series East makes its 12th visit to Greenville Pickens Speedway and last week’s pole-sitter, Ben Rhodes says his strategy this week will differ from last year’s event at the same track.

“I think adding the break and giving us four tires will make a huge difference over what we saw last September,” said Rhodes.

After drivers opted for a tire-saving strategy in the last race at Greenville, NASCAR made changes adding a half-way break and allowing teams four more tires for the event. Continue reading
