The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series makes its triumphant return to NBC on Sunday, July 5 with the broadcast of the Coke Zero 400 presented by Coca-Cola.

Coverage starts with the pre-race show at 7 p.m. ET and the race broadcast begins at 7:45 p.m. ET.

Crew Chief Swap Is Expected To Turn Season Around For RCR

Starting this weekend at Daytona International Speedway, the crew chiefs for Richard Childress Racing’s No. 3 and 33 cars will look a little different. That’s because they are switching between the teams; a good old-fashioned swap. Now Danny Stockman Jr. will lead the No. 33 Chevrolet team with driver Austin Dillon, and Nick Harrison will now serve as crew chief for the No. 3 team with driver Ty Dillon.  Continue reading →

Kyle Busch Resurrects Season with Spectacular Victory at Sonoma

That simple statement hardly plumbs the depth of emotion Kyle Busch was feeling after winning Sunday’s Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway.

In the first-ever 1-2 finish in the series by the Busch brothers, Kyle Busch beat Kurt Busch to the finish line by .532 seconds to win for the first time since returning from an 11-race absence because of a broken right leg and left foot sustained in a Feb. 21 accident at Daytona International Speedway. Big Name Drivers Influence NASCAR Rules Package Change for Kentucky

It’s no secret that up to this point of the season, NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers have been unhappy with the current rules package for their cars. The new aerodynamics package for the 2015 has produced sub par racing for several drivers and they have no fear in expressing to NASCAR their desire for change.

The first evidence of the unhappiness from the drivers began when we learned of the newly formed, ‘Driver’s Council’ as reported in early June. Drivers include but are not limited to, Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kevin Harvick, Kyle Larson, Joey Logano, Tony Stewart and Denny Hamlin.

The new package NASCAR announced this week, will début at Kentucky Speedway, and it’s a reasonable to surmise, that new packaged stemmed from concerns expressed by the ‘Driver’s Council.’ Continue reading →
